My name is Ricardo Rivera Jr., and for the past 12 years, I have dedicated my professional life to serving and supporting individuals in my community. My journey in this field began as a direct support staff member, where I had the privilege of working hands-on with individuals, helping them navigate daily life and achieve their goals. This role ignited my passion for community support and provided a strong foundation for my career.
Over time, my experience grew, and I advanced to the position of Program Manager. In this role, I took on more responsibility, overseeing programs that focused on enhancing the lives of individuals in need of mental health support, as well as those in the elderly population. Working with both groups was a deeply rewarding experience, and I became even more dedicated to making a tangible difference in their lives.
In addition to my managerial responsibilities, I also became a Certified CPR Instructor, feeling it was crucial to equip myself and others with the skills needed to respond effectively in emergency situations. This certification expanded my expertise and allowed me to share vital life-saving knowledge with colleagues and community members. In October 2024, I took this commitment further by establishing my own CPR business, R&R Skills, LLC, where I serve as an instructor and trainer, helping others acquire essential life-saving skills.
October 2024 also marked another significant milestone in my career as I joined Butler Rescue Hands, Inc. as the Director of Services. This role has given me the opportunity to continue advocating for those in need while working with a team that shares my commitment to quality care and community support.
Throughout my career, I’ve focused on building meaningful relationships with the people I serve, advocating for their needs, and ensuring they have access to the resources necessary for living fulfilling lives. Whether working directly with individuals or managing programs, I am driven by the belief that every person deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to thrive.
As I reflect on my 12 years of service, I am proud of the work I’ve done and the impact I’ve made. The journey continues to inspire me to push forward, grow, and contribute to the well-being of the community.
